What type of steel is used?
Every custom grill grate is fabricated from durable A36 carbon steel for excellent strength, heat resistance, and long-term durability.
Can I cook directly on this grate?
Yes. This grate is designed for direct food contact. Before your first cook, season it with a high-smoke-point cooking oil just like cast iron.
Can it support heavy cookware?
Absolutely. The welded frame provides excellent rigidity, allowing the grate to support Dutch ovens, cast iron skillets, and large cuts of meat.
How do I prevent rust?
Season the grate before use, keep it lightly oiled after cleaning, and store your grill or smoker covered when possible. Light surface oxidation is normal on carbon steel and can easily be removed.
