What steel do you use?
We use A36 food-grade steel that offers excellent durability and performance for grills, smokers, and fireboxes.
Do you offer stainless steel grates?
No. We currently manufacture our custom grates using A36 steel only.
How long does it take to receive my grate?
Because every grate is custom fabricated, please allow 1-2 weeks from the purchase date for production and shipping.
Can this grate be used in a firebox?
Yes. Many customers use these grates as replacement firebox grates in offset smokers, charcoal cookers, and custom BBQ pits.
Are the grates welded for strength?
Yes. Each grate is framed and welded for durability and long-term performance under high-heat conditions.
Will this fit my smoker or grill?
Please verify your measurements before ordering. This grate measures 16 inches long by 16.625 inches wide and is designed for equipment that accepts those dimensions.
Should I season the grate before using it?
Yes. We recommend seasoning the grate with cooking oil before the first cook to help protect the steel and improve performance.
How do I prevent rust?
Keep the grate seasoned with a light coating of cooking oil and store your grill or smoker under cover whenever possible.
How do I determine the correct grate size?
You must measure the opening where the grate will sit and provide the dimensions needed. DDR BBQ Supply cannot determine the correct grate size for your specific grill, smoker, or firebox.

With over 35 years of smoking experience, we started DDR BBQ Supply with a simple goal: to help others cook better barbecue. We've spent decades learning what works and what doesn't, and we apply that knowledge to every product we carry. From high-performance grills and smokers to carefully selected rubs, sauces, and tools, everything we offer is something we believe in and use ourselves. We don’t believe in cutting corners or selling gear we wouldn’t rely on during our own backyard cooks and when we compete in BBQ competitions.
