Fabricated from 3/16" thick A36 food-grade steel and framed for added rigidity, this grate has a finished assembled thickness of approximately 1/2". The welded construction helps reduce flexing while providing a dependable cooking surface for briskets, pork shoulders, ribs, cast iron cookware, charcoal, and wood-fired cooking applications.

Grates take 1-2 weeks to mail from the date of purchase as every grate is cut to order.

What is the thickness of the grates?
Our custom grill grates are fabricated from 3/16" thick A36 steel and framed for strength and rigidity. The finished assembled thickness is approximately 1/2".
What steel do you use?
We use A36 food-grade steel for all custom grill grates and firebox grates.
Do you offer stainless steel grates?
No, we do not offer stainless steel grates at this time.
Can this grate be used in a firebox?
Yes. This grate works well as a firebox grate, smoker grate, charcoal grate, cooking grate, or replacement grate.
Will this fit my smoker?
Please measure your existing grate opening carefully before ordering. Customers must provide the exact grate dimensions needed. DDR BBQ Supply cannot determine the required grate size for third-party cookers.
Are the grates welded?
Yes. Every grate is framed and welded for added rigidity, durability, and long-term performance.
Should I season the grate before use?
Yes. We recommend seasoning the grate with a high-smoke-point oil before first use and re-seasoning periodically as needed.
How do I prevent rust?
Keep the grate dry when not in use, store it indoors or covered when possible, and maintain seasoning. Light surface oxidation is normal for raw steel.
How long does fabrication take?
Every grate is cut to order. Please allow approximately 1-2 weeks before shipment.
