The smoker is a win! Build quality for price mark exceeded expectations. It did not come with a thermometer. This I'm sure will be changed. The smoker did have metal shavings within and were cleaned out prior to seasoning. I only see this as minor short falls. First cook was a pork butt of 11.5 hours. Temperature holds consistent. Smoke was imparted via the ash box with cured Hickory. Buyers need not worry of smoke flavor versus offset. It is achievable and with far less wood than an offset smoker. Buy with confidence. This smoker is a total win. 6" stem thermometer is what I have installed and suggest.

Tons of room for smoking! But doesn't take up a lot of space. Love the rack system which utilizes space very well. Temp control is super easy and stays where you set it. No crazy flare ups or temp spikes. Don't waste your money with big box store throw-aways. Get it and make some great food!
